Success is on academics – it is not a place for socializing or hanging out – and students will be expected
to use their time productively.
GM Success will meet in Room 206 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays from 3:05 until 4:30pm
as well as Wednesdays from 2:05 until 3:30pm. The first meeting will be Monday, September 11th .

Field Trip Guidelines: For ALL students attending Get Air Field Trip:  Monday-7/8Tuesday-6th.

  1.  You will be dismissed at approximately 10:50 to come to the cafeteria for lunch.  Even if you bring your lunch, come to the cafeteria at that time.
  2. We will board the buses at 11:15. The sooner we leave, the more time we have at Get Air, so be prompt.
  3. Dress code:  If you wish to change into shorts or leggings, you can do that when we get to Get Air.  You do not have permission to wear your chosen attire at Garrison that morning before we leave.
  4. Do NOT bring backpacks:  You can leave those in room 206.  String bags with snacks, etc, can come with you.  There are cubbies available for storage at Get Air.  Also, snacks are available for purchase at the site.
  5. Be sure you have arranged for either a ride or know you will be walking when we return.
  6. Any student under the influence or in possession of any item of contraband (drugs, alcohol, weapons) will face the full consequences of the Walla Walla School District.
  7. Have FUN!  But be safe and considerate and good representatives of Garrison.

GMS Students Visit County Courthouse

On March 3 Garrison 7th and 8th grade Explorer students got the opportunity to travel to the Walla Walla County Courthouse to meet with judges and lawyers and observe a pre-trial motion.

Students met first with County Clerk Kathy Martin who ushered them into the courtroom where they were allowed to sit in the jury seats and visit with the Honorable Judge Wolfram. Afterwards the students observed a pre-trial motion and had a lecture from two local attorneys about their positions as prosecutors and public defenders. The students then went to lunch! 7th grader Caitlin Carvalho had this to say, “It was amazing that we got to learn about the law firsthand, and it was kind how the judges and lawyers took time to visit with us and speak about their careers in the law.”

These students will be participating in their own mock trial on March 31.
